About this listen

Jude:

What do you do when you wake up with a hangover and find yourself in bed with your best friend's younger brother?

Who happens to be your new brother-in-law?

The man who drives you crazy.

The man who always skated by on fast-talk, good looks, and a bright smile.

The one who makes you want to break all the rules.

You hire him as your assistant, of course.

And pray you can keep your sanity.

And your hands off him.

Mason:

How do you prove you've changed?

That you're no longer the party boy who always needed rescuing from his own mistakes - and boy you've made some big ones.

But no one needs to know your secrets.

You take a job with the one man who doesn't trust you.

Who's waiting for you to screw up.

You try and forget that one explosive night together.

Except you can't.

And to your shock...neither can he.

What do you do when the one man you can't imagine living with is the one you can't live without?

Good narration but irritating characters

I loved the narration but I dislike characters like Mason who always have the upper hand with no flaws. Jude is the start of a good back story which is then just used to beat him over the head with. frankly the last 3 scenes added nothing but additional let's beat Jude for his character while Mason is allowed to be 2 dimensional.

A good story

Overall I enjoyed this book . Occasionally the narrator was a bit lifeless for the main character .
But overall his performance was easy and fun.

Fun and light... except for the last chapters.

the beginning is great! I love the story, the characters, and how everything falls into place. Kale does a fantastic job.
The story has a mix of lovely, funny, and hot scenes.

My only complaint is that the last five chapters are incredibly boring because they go over the same problem over and over and over again... and once you think they managed to get over it... they go over it again and again. Also, the last chapters stop being as fun as the rest of the book changing from this witty relationship and badass characters to sulking, doubting, and dull over-feely dudes with a constant tedious sermon of goodness and how they are not the same men for the 1100383727299 time.

Brilliant

Absolutely love reading about Jude and Mason but listening to Kale put voiced to them was amazing.
Mason being so care free and Jude being so uptight comes across perfectly .
Brilliantly done , thoroughly enjoyed this audio.

New to me narrator - loved him!

Mr. Uptight is a wonderful feel-good story with a title that sums up the story.

The MC’s are the perfect combination of opposites attract but in this case the attraction has simmered for more than ten years; each of them supposedly disliking/disapproving of the other. The catalyst for finally throwing these two lovely, very different boys together is the wedding of their respective sister and brother. Too many shots at the reception and their show is finally on the road to a hard won HEA.

I bought Mr. Uptight on a whim and couldn’t stop listening and Felice Stevens is now firmly on my radar. I found her writing to be intelligent, plausible and eloquent. A lovely story with the added bonus of a dear eccentric elderly lady, a spoiled diva of a lap dog and a thoroughly enjoyable performance by the talented Kale Williams. Recommended.

Sexy Mr. Uptight

Jude and Mason journey is hard because of Jude insecurities and lack of relationships, he doesn’t know how to show his feelings and thinks that he and Mason are so different but that’s the opposite they complement each perfectly, Mason is what Jude need to relax and enjoy life, he brings out another part of him. I adore Mason he is so affectionate and makes Jude happy. Jude just need someone to set him free, but also Mason need Jude to help him to be responsible and take things seriously. Also there’s another side of Jude that just a few people knows and I melt every time I read about it.

I enjoy this book so much, Felice make the best stories and because of that you can help to wish more every time, I really don’t want the book to end, Kale Williams did an amazing job narrating this book, Jude and Mason sounds so sexy! Can’t get enough of this audiobook!

Felice Stevens does her magic again!

This newest standalone story is a wonderfully written, deeply emotional opposite attracts stories, but there are so many more sub-tropes in it: enemies to lovers, best friend’s brother, boss/employee. In fact, the relationship between Mason and Jude is multi-layered, very entangled and so complicated!
Jude is a very complicated character himself; in his mid-thirties, he is a very confident businessman, but when it comes to his personal life he is so out of his depths and so closed off that it was painful to read.
Mason is the polar opposite: a ray of sunshine, always with a positive attitude, he doesn’t believe in regrets, and while not proud of some of the mistakes he has done in the past, he owns then and wants to use them to show the people in his life he has outgrown the flaky boy he once was.
The story is sort of addictive, I read it in a single setting because the writing and plot and continuous back and forth between the two MCs made it impossible for me to put the book down until everything was said and done.
I only wish I could see a glimpse of these two some years in the future to see how Jude is adjusting to life as a part of a couple.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
