About this listen

Let bestselling author T.A. Williams whisk you away to gorgeous Tuscany in this gripping murder mystery featuring a retired DCI and his loyal companion, Oscar.

It really is murder in paradise!

A picturesque scene…

As grape harvest season rolls around, retired DCI Dan Armstrong and his beloved canine companion, Oscar, are looking forward to a nice quiet September. But when Dan is contacted about a mysterious death out in the Tuscan Hills, it seems that work must come before pleasure.

A suspicious find…

At first it appears that the body found lying outside a prestigious winery has been the result of a tragic hit and run. But then the police discover that this is a cover up for murder…but who would kill in such an idyllic spot and why?

A face from the past?

As Dan investigates, he meets famous ex rock star, Digger, owner of the winery and prestigious Podere Dei Santi hotel. Digger’s guests include wealthy businessmen, tourists, and, among them, suspected mafia hitmen. But more significant for Dan is a face he knows only too well from his own past and he soon finds that wine isn't the only thing fermenting around him.

Could this murder be the start of a gangland war, or do the killer’s motives lie much closer to home? Will complications from Dan's past return to trouble his future? Either way, Dan and Oscar must work around the clock to solve another mystery.

Another great story from TA Williams

An easy listen with a great performance, easy to follow plot but still left guessing who’s the guilty party

Binged on this series like Oscar an icecream!

Great storylines that keep you gripped and entertained, and loved the narration.
Simon Mattack’s voices are great and immersive. A very slight shame that some of his italian (mis)pronounciations break the sense that it is Dan speaking, but already looking forward to n.11!

Murder in the Tuscany Hills

Absolutely love the plot kept me going and lots of twist it was beautiful because it was in Italy. The author is quite extraordinary. The way he writes it. It’s really good and the narrator is brilliant.

short changed or what??

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Armstrong and Oscar Series and Simon Mattacks reads them beautifully.
The only thing that really really annoys me is the lenth of the books.
I expect a minimum of 8 hours from a credit and these stories are getting shorter.
Take note Mr Williams. I am not buying any more if they are this short.

The narration

Not very exciting. I preferred the other books in this series. But I would still read the next one

Honestly I know it’s fictional but what man wouldn’t just say “ hey darling, my bloody ex wife is here” ! Anyway, niggle aside, good fun as ever.

Thoroughly enjoyed the latest outing of Dan and Oscar ….. great story and enjoyable sub story too .
Hope there will be more cases for our detective and his canine side-kick .
