There were so many terrifying stories about the Jews. People called them useless vermin, filthy, dangerous. Before I met Abram, I was afraid of them, too. But I am about to tell you a very different story—a forbidden story.

Tonight our son giggles with excitement as he blows out the candles on his birthday cake. But our safety is nothing but an illusion. As his candles burn out, a window shatters outside. The room shudders as the synagogue down the street is engulfed in flames.

What a powerful story 😮 and because I wasn’t watching my chapters while listening I was shocked when it came to the end 😩. For me it was a fantastic listen and at times very sad, I know it was written as fiction ( but we know there is some truth behind it all). I’m just about to buy more credits so that I can listen to book 2, ( I’ve just googled to see what it’s called Stolen child, and Web of Secrets book 3) can’t wait for my end of month credit. This is why it is great that you can listen to free books, it gives you the chance to choose authors that you have not heard of and it introduces you to new ones. This series is truly worth a listen/ read. God rest all the souls that perished before ww2 and during 🙏🏾.

I’d not heard of this author before and downloaded this audio book for free. I’m so glad that I did. Although this is a heartbreaking story I’ve found it to be compulsive listening. Great narration too. Have already downloaded the next book in the series. Would definitely recommend
