About this listen
Eight years have passed since Stella last saw Ivo, but when he returns, the reunion of their unconventional family will change the course of her ordinary life.
As children, Stella and Ivo grew close as their parents embarked on an affair that would shatter both families. Later, as teenagers, their own relationship would be the cause of further scandal. Now, as adults, they set out on an odyssey to uncover the truth about another family’s past—and to understand their own.
My Soul Twin is an intense love story about forbidden desire, the ties that bind us, and whether we can ever truly forget what we leave behind.
©2022 Nino Haratischvili (P)2022 Dreamscape MediaMy Soul Twin tells of a tumultuous relationship between a foster brother and sister Stella and Ivo were bought up together for part of their German childhood and become inextricably linked but not always in healthy ways. The novel opens with Ivo suddenly returning to the family after being estranged for seven years.
I was always going to read this because I absolutely adored Haratchiwili's first novel, The Eighth Life. However, I am the sort of reader who needs at least some likeable characters to get myself through a book. So, I found the first two-thirds hard to get through. The resolution to this novel was pretty amazing, though, and I felt my perseverance was richly rewarded.
Very Well Written, But No Likeable Characters
