About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of No One Home, written by Tim Weaver.

On Halloween night, the residents of Black Gale gather for a dinner party. As the only nine people living there, they've become close friends as well as neighbours. They eat, drink and laugh. They play games and take photographs. Except those photographs will be the last record of any of them. By the next morning, the whole village has vanished.

With no bodies, no evidence and no clues, the mystery of what happened at Black Gale remains unsolved two and a half years on. But then the families of the missing turn to investigator David Raker - and their obsession becomes his. What secrets were the neighbours keeping from their families - and from each other? Were they really everything they seemed to be? And is Raker looking for nine missing people - or nine dead bodies?

Was gripped by this story from page 1 !! Author has a way of making you feel involved in the life of the main characters and all the paths leading to the conclusion. Loved the switch of the story tellers from Uk to USA dialects. Fiction at its best !

This book was fantastic I started listening to it and couldn’t put it down. Going to sleep at night listening to it (often had to rewind a bit in the morning!) listening to it every chance I had during the day.

Brilliant book

I really enjoy Tim Weaver but this was hard work. It's all over the place!
It jumps from the 2000's back to the 1980's then back again and I felt unable to follow the story line.. I'm rather disappointed 😔

Struggled with this!!!!!

this started ok but became more and more unbelievable as I listened. It's a shame because I really enjoyed the earlier books the last two have been simply irritating.

a far fetched

It's a good story but there is a lot of over-explaining and I struggled to keep going in places.

I do love a Tim Weaver book and this one was excellent. started reading in our coffee and crime club and read and listened to within two days. Good story line that kept you guessing

Once Started couldnt put down

This was a long recording but very well done. Certain aspects were really not credible but I guess that's what I have grown to expect from this series - however the story is so well told and narrated that I have forgiven that! For entertainment value I would definitely recommend this book. Can Raker - and the author- ever better this? Looking forward already to the next novel!

I was riveted throughout

Starts out well, then gradually becomes ever more implausible and tedious. Story line becomes more and more entangled and proportionately less interesting, so much so that i just could not even be bothered to finish it. Shame, because well read and good lead character.

starts out well....then zzzz
