About this listen
'A story fans of Jack Reacher will love' Telegraph
'Packs an emotional punch' Daphne Wright, Literary Review
'Graphic, jaw-dropping thrills and kills. An explosive, fast-paced and cinematic adventure' Women's Weekly
'A gleeful second appearance... this high-body-count romp is told with verve and relish' New York Times
The man who can't feel fear is back, in a race against time to find the woman who knows a secret that could take down the world as we know it.
When a shocking murder and abduction on the streets of London leads investigators to him, Ben Koenig has no idea at first why the highest echelons of the CIA would need his help. But then he realises he knows the woman who carried out the killings. Ten years earlier, without being told why, he was tasked with helping her disappear.
Far from being a deranged killer, she is the gatekeeper of a secret that could take down the West, so for years she has been in hiding. Until now.
And if she has resurfaced, the danger may be closer and more terrifying than anyone can imagine.
So Ben Koenig has to find her before it's too late. But Ben suffers from a syndrome which means he can't feel fear. He doesn't always know when he should walk away, or when he's leading others into danger . . .
Fast, brutal and smart, the second book in the Sunday Times bestselling Ben Koenig series is a pulse-raising, adrenaline-filled rollercoaster featuring ruthless killers, hard choices - and one fearless man . . .
'An absolute white-knuckle ride of a book. Fingernail-chewingly tense, lightning paced and as hard-edged as Koenig's Fairburn-Sykes dagger. Just brilliant.' Neil Lancaster, bestselling author of the Tom Novak and Max Craigie series
''Koenig's acerbic wit plays well, bringing lightness to a book riddled with graphic murders. Fans of complex thrillers with an intriguing antihero will enjoy Craven's latest Koenig adventure.' Booklist

Brilliant second installment of Ben Koenig
Like the first Ben Koenig book, I really enjoyed this. The books are so different to the Po & Tilly books (which tbh I prefer) but still very well written, with great characters. I hope there's more Koenig books to come.

Enjoyable … but the ‘wit’ is over done
An ok story, not as good as the first, but still as enjoyable for your morning walks

Brilliant
Great story and follow up the the first in the series. I found the subtle references to people and situations excellent or am I reading too much into them, either way a great read.

Another Great Listen.
This is an excellent addition to the Ben Koenig series from the pen of Mike Craven. With well developed characters it is fast paced and action packed from the very first page to the last. Ben is called in when a woman he thought he had killed many years ago surfaces and starts a murderous rein. Good plot and edge of the seat listening. Highly Recommended. William Hopes narration is spot on and brings the whole story to life.

Great story with loads of twists.
A well written , well narrated story with twists, interesting facts, suspence and dry humour in equal amounts. Will be keenly awaiting no 3 and looking for more books by this narrator.

Brilliant
Great characters. Excellent story and well narrated. All M W Craven books are 5 star. Thought it was difficult to beat the Washington Poe series but this is equally as good.

far too fantasiful. thumbs down
The first book in the series was 100 times better. that was like Jack reacher on steroids.
This one is just limpinbg from one showdown to another.
I hope the next one is better otherwise I will not be reading any more Ben Koenigs.
