About this listen

An Exorcists Audiobook

The Exorcists are a Space Marine Chapter unlike any other. To combat the forces of Chaos, they willingly accept daemonic possession, knowing that once it is purged their shattered souls will no longer be susceptible to corruption. Those who fail the banishment trials become Broken Ones – living prisons for the terrors expelled from their brethren. Should such desperate measures become known to the wider Imperium, the Chapter would stand accused of the vilest of heresies.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Discover what happens when a Broken One is freed, and a daemonic conspiracy threatens to unveil the dark rituals of the Exorcists.

THE STORY

The Exorcists dispatch their Vanguard elite, the Hexbreakers, in a desperate quest to hunt down a Broken One, but the connection between their quarry and the strike force commander, Daggan Zaidu, is more than it first appears.

Plenty to like

Interesting stakes and the twists are well executed. The characters and their individual struggles are interesting as well

Sons of Dorn!!! WTAF!!

If Dorn returns and finds out about this chapter they are going joining Horus in the immaterium!
How a chapter called The Exorcists are not immediately made excommunicatus is a mystery
I really enjoyed this book, I had zero knowledge about them and it was absolutely fascinating to listen
I do have an issue about the narrator Adept …. Tus Astartes? 🤔
He did a very good job on Bloodlines but this was not his best sadly

Disappointing

I was really looking forward to finding out more about this unique chapter. I'm not sure if it's the writing, narration or both but this was a slog to get through. The narration doesn't help, I'm sure he would be a good voice actor for other formats, but not for a 40k novel. He just kind of sounds bored. I'll read the book and see of it's any better that way, but this was disappointing.

Average Space Marine adventure

Pretty much as the title. The book follows some of the Exorcists and it is interesting hearing about their chapter and character. The story is nothing special as they hunt in a warzone for their quarry. The narration is solid enough but not exactly gripping either.

Disapointing

I started this book because I loved the Exorcists. I didn't even finish it and now I now longer like them. the narrator sounds bored, the lore doesn't make sense and the story is frankly a bit boring.
