About this listen

Fat Boy McMaster is a hopeless heavyweight boxer, who has somehow managed to become the champion of Ireland. His devious manager has set up a St Patrick's Day fight in New York against Mike Tyson, and he wants journalist Dan Starkey to write about it.

Ok, but not one of his best

What did you like best about Of Wee Sweetie Mice and Men? What did you like least?

I love the narration and a lot of Bateman's dialogue - it can be hilarious and much better than the overall story.

Would you be willing to try another book from Colin Bateman? Why or why not?

I've listened and read a lot of his books - I'm a fan.

What does Adam Moore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I really like Adam Moore's narration - it just sounds 'right'.

Do you think Of Wee Sweetie Mice and Men needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not in the sense of a follow-up story connected to this as I didn't think this was one of his best.

Any additional comments?

I didn't think this story was great, but it's still worth a listen as there are some gems in there. My favourite one to listen to so far has been 'I predict a riot' which just made me laugh out loud on many occasions. I also really liked Driving Big Davie'

The proof is in the pudding!

Colin Bateman can't go wrong, especially when narrated by Adam Moore. Great story and engaging narration.
