This is destined to be an all time classic love story. The characters are beautifully drawn, warts and all and I couldn't wait to read about each stage of their lives. This is one of the few books I would consider reading again.

Have just rented the film to watch over Christmas and am dreading it not coming up to scratch. This book was one of the early audio books I listened to and I was totally hooked. A story that makes you want to grasp the day and get the most out of life. Shocking twists and turns and utterly compelling. Thought it might be a chick lit number but far from it. Superbly narrated, didn't want it to end.

This was the first audio book which I have listened to and was not sure what to expect. I am an avid reader of books but decided to try audible so that I could 'read' whilst on the daily commute without getting my book squashed.

Having heard rave reviews about this book I thought I would give it a listen.

I must admit I found this book disappointing. I found the voice of the audio presenter to be irritating which did spoil the book for me slightly.

The story itself I found the be very intriguing and enjoyed listening to the tangled web weaves between the two main characters. It's a bit of a love story with some comedy thrown in. The characters are easy to relate to and I'm sure many people will sympathise with some of the situations and scenarios within the plot.

However, I was thoroughly disappointed with the ending of the story, which unfortunately spoiled the whole book for me. I think perhaps I would not have been so disappointed if I had read the book which would have taken me a couple of hours, but to go through 16 hours worth of listening to finish with the ending which it did was actually almost upsetting!

Please note that I have listened to several audio books since which I have really enjoyed, this book just did not do it for me.

Excellent narration made this audio a real treat, thoroughly entertaining. Reading the book would never have revealed the characters as well as Anna Bentinck.

This book was read fantastically and the characters lives brilliantly observed. I could find myself examining how I treated and was treated by boyfriends and friends in my early twenties. I realise how callous we can be in our youth. The only reason I didn't give it a five was that sometimes the plot was a little predictable, but I guess real life is exactly like that!

If I were to recommend one book from audible it would be this. Poignant and accurate depiction of 2 lives through 2 decades. You will the best to happen.... Beautiful narration brings the cast of characters to life. You may need a few tissues.

I know I am not the only one who says 'One Day' is a perfectly composed and written novel of our times. I must warn however all future purchasers of this title on Audible, that you can not skip by chapters in this audio version. The whole is merged from single discs and is divided on 12 units. If you want to re-listen your favorite chapter, it will take a lot of forward and reward work to find it again. This brilliant performance would deserve a proper cutting.

Following two lives by dropping in on them on the same date on different years is an original take, and adds a different perspective, but its the story and writing that really gets you, it doesn't need a gimmick. I was really surprised it was written by a man, the thoughts of Emma are so realistic I would have sworn it had been written by a woman! I'd listen to this for hours at a time, when i only, eant to zpend half an hour. Manages that tricky position of being extremely moving without being over sentimental. A gorgeous book, not seen the film but I would hate it to be poor, so don't want to break the spell...

Despite this book probably earning and owning the genre 'Chick Flick' I confess I loved it, couldn't stop listening, loved Dex & Em's characters and the way the story flows and takes you with it!! Definitely a good choice, easy and quick to listen to.
