Summary
The Earth is changing. The alien invasion brought social upheaval, advanced technology, and an armada of peacekeeping robots. But Alan, a college student pursuing a now-useless degree, cares little about all of this. He has only one thing on his mind: the Game.
A fully immersive virtual reality, the Game appears to be a major part of the invading civilization. Alan can't wait to play, recklessly diving into the digital universe. Soon though, Alan realizes the Game is anything but simple, and the stakes are higher than he ever imagined.

Extremely accessible (not really a gamer), well paced, expanding the richly fabricated world minute by minute. I've seen comparisons to Ready Player One, I enjoyed this a lot more and it is quite different. I'm in for the series, thank you.

This book is excellent for any gamer who is looking for a good listen. Great story, narration and many twists and turns. Definitely recommend!

Excellent story with a different sci-fi idea
Was mot sure what to expect from this book as I bought it due to its narrative. I can I loved it from the first chapter. Well read by Nick Podehl I loved its originality, so hoping there will be many more books to follow.

Fantastic book, and series overall.
I'm listening 3rd time to it. Intriguing world while still being quite realistic. Fast action makes it very enjoyable, not having to wait several chapters of dull conversations for an important action twist. A must listen to any lit-rpg fans.

Simply good and enjoyable
I bought this audiobook for listening to more works from the narrator, who did not disappoint me as usual. The story was quite enjoyable and I'll certainly listen to the next book as well.
