About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

This is the ultimate manual for living better and longer.

For all its successes, mainstream medicine has failed to make much progress against the diseases of ageing that kill most people: heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and type 2 diabetes. Too often, it intervenes with treatments too late, prolonging lifespan at the expense of quality of life. Dr Peter Attia, the world's top longevity expert who is featured on Chris Hemsworth's National Geographic documentary Limitless, believes we must replace this outdated framework with a personalised, proactive strategy for longevity.

This isn't 'biohacking,' it's science: a well-founded strategic approach to extending lifespan while improving our physical, cognitive and emotional health, making each decade better than the one before. With Outlive's practical advice and roadmap, you can plot a different path for your life, one that lets you outlive your genes to make each decade better than the one before.

Will Likely Modify Your Thinking

Wasn’t what I’d expected and it is more tactical and strategic and uncovers a fair few myths and has got my thinking altered - for which I’m hugely grateful - and the book’s back story and personal antidotes add to the story and makes it more relatable. It wasn’t until the whole book was listened to did it all link in together and make much more sense. The new principles here with more detailed subtleties and avenues elsewhere make it very worthwhile and this certainly clarifies and improves and sets the big picture better than anyone else I’ve come across. Add it to your valued collection.

Lots of great information, well worth reading/listening

I found this book interesting and full of good information. As an almost 60 year old strong, healthy athlete who never goes to the doctor and takes no medications I will not be following his advice to take statins!! But I still found the book useful and informative.

This gives an interesting and informative overview of the main aging related diseases and how to extend health span.l and lifespan.
There is a section at the end of mental health which I found valuable and inspiring.

Great book, great insight

I find myself still going back and listening to chapters. The book is very holistic and forward thinking. I find myself incorporating elements in to both my practise and personal life. Was recommended this book by a patient, now recommending this book to patients / friends and family.

A must read if your interested in living longer now.

Loved this book and whilst 95% made sense to me there were just a few technical areas that I will need to read again . Very informative and educational at same time. I found the subject areas fascinating especially around taking care of your health now and not when it’s too late when we arrive at the Drs or hospital.
If you read nothing else this year then read this. Educate yourself and give yourself a much better chance of living a long, healthy and happy life.

Honest and inspiring

Insightful, inspiring, educational and motivational. But above else, a unique and human perspective on living a good life, both physically and mentally.

I’ll reread this - excellent book

Just finished listening to this after a friend recommended it. I was already a fan of Peter’s after listening to many of his podcasts. This book gives such useful insights and more helpful information - I’ve got quite a lot of notes! I loved the last chapter especially. In terms of life’s priorities that would’ve come first, though I can understand why Peter left it to the end.
