About this listen
He's a paladin of a dead god, tracking a supernatural killer across a continent. She's a nun from a secretive order, on the trail of the raiders who burned her convent and kidnapped her sisters.
When their paths cross at the point of a sword, Istvhan and Clara will be pitched headlong into each other's quests, facing off against enemies both living and dead. But Clara has a secret that could jeopardize the growing trust between them, a secret that will lead them to the gladiatorial pits of a corrupt city, and beyond....

Sweet, spicy and bloody
I enjoyed the second instalment of this series immensely. It was the perfect mix of fantasy and romance (it leans more to the fantasy narrative than real spice but I enjoy those types of books more) it had a really great plot with some things I wasn’t expecting. The narrator was excellent too. I will be buying the third book immediately!

Loved this audiobook!!
Just as good as the first story, only this one has stakes that are a bit higher, making the story a bit less fluffy. Clara's character is marvellous and I love how she manages to shake up Istvhan! Managing to create a female protagonist who can and does physically dominate the male love interest, even when he is the biggest guy around? *Chefs kiss!* I also really enjoyed his contemplations about his role as a paladin, and the blind faith he'd had in his god that he has since questioned. This writer does an excellent job of subtly poking at a lot of fantasy genre tropes in a way that I really enjoy.

Loving this series, great story, characters and narration
Cracks me up how often the word particularly crops up in this story and how the narrator says it. I listen at 1.4 speed, it helps keep it punchy

I love love love it
I was hesitant after the first book. don't get me wrong it was a good book but it was slightly gory. But THIS book! an absolute gem! it was thrilling and soft and gushy and slightly gory and interesting and all the good things! it is just the best! I adore it! the characters, the plot points, the narration. EVERYTHING! I adore it. it's still a bit gruesome but it's very good in breaking tension and building it up again. wonderful wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about it
