I really emphasised with all the characters and their motives. I love the tender and human side of the two families story. I think the author depicts a very authentic picture of the Basque issues.

This book is en incredible explanation of terrorism, the way its ideas enter the mind of its perpetrators and the life time consecuentes for its victims.
It hook me from the start. At first I did not like the narrator, but as the book advanced he does give the words meaning! Excellent at the coloquial and internal thoughts.

Interesante e intrincada historia basada en hechos terroristas y nazionalistas en el Pais Vasco durante la última etapa de ETA, desde el punto de vista de dos familias antes unidas luego enfrentadas.
Destaca como se hace doméstico estico el terror supremacista de los radicales en la vida cotidiana.
La narrativa muy directa, con muchos saltos temporales y exceso de subtramas que alargan el desarrollo hasta un desenlace quizás algo precipitado.
Muy recomendable para viajar al núcleo del desquiciado fenómeno etarra.

Todavía estoy escuchándolo, pero se me hace muy raro que nadie tenga acento vasco.

Cuando el intérprete lee la parte de la cuidadora, pone un acento sudamericano, pero el resto de los personajes no tienen acento alguno, me encuentro escuchándolo y haciendo los acentos en mi cabeza...

Excelente novela contada por varias narradores. Cuenta como unos vecinos vivieron el nacionalismo vasco desde los años 80 hasta este siglo. Juan Magraner es un narrador excelente. Pone la voz tanto a jóvenes como mayores, a mujeres como hombres, que se van entrecruzado, con una habilidad asombrosa. Yo dría que este libro fue escrito para Audible.

I had troubles starting with the novel, I felt often lost "in time", in the sense of not knowing when did the events of the current chapter occur and how do they relate to the rest.

After letting the story evolve for few chapters, I started to really enjoy it and to appreciate the author's choice to present the development of characters. A story made of conflicts, of emotions, of sifferings and of dedications, I truly enjoyed listening to it and I highly recommend it!

Me ha gustado mucho la obra. Podria decirse que en muchos aspectos es atemporal ya que refleja como es una gran parte de la sociedad española en lo que refiere a ideales y caracter obtuso. Quiero creer que cambiaremos aunque solo sea por leer obras como esta y aprender de la realidad contada sin tapujos.
Todo lo que trata de sobre ETA en España conlleva muy contrapuestas opiniones y en Patria se reflejan muy bien. La forma de narrar los hechos te mantiene enganchado por el constante salto temporal y entre los personajes.
