About this listen

Book two in the Bequin series

Alizebeth Bequin's world has been turned upside-down. Now she must choose who she will follow as Inquisitors Eisenhorn and Ravenor battle to discover the secrets at the heart of Queen Mab.

Listen to it because

The latest chapter in Dan Abnett's Inquisition saga is here, and it's packed with shocking twists and stunning revelations that will change the way you look at the Warhammer 40,000 universe forever.

The story

In the mysterious city of Queen Mab, the forces of light and darkness are locked in a murderous struggle for truth. The dedicated agents of the Holy Inquisition battle with their shadowy counterparts, the infamous Cognitae, to discover the encrypted identity of the enigmatic, all-powerful King in Yellow. Caught at the heart of this struggle is the pariah Alizebeth Bequin. Will she stand with the Inquisition or with the Cognitae that raised her? And if she chooses the Inquisition, will it be the wise but ruthless Ravenor or his rival, the denounced heretic Eisenhorn? Bequin must withstand an onslaught of angels, daemons, and even the monstrous warriors of the Traitor Legions, to unpick the greatest riddle of her life.

The beloved characters of Eisenhorn and Ravenor return, as implaccable adversaries in a novel of esoteric mystery, macabre intrigue, and vivid action, where the revelation of true identity could mean death...or might shake the Imperium to its very foundations.

Bequin book one was a slow burn and build up. Here the story really hits its stride and moves towards revelations that threaten the entire Imperium of Man. This book is best appreciated as a development of the whole series. If you haven't read the preceding books, don't start here, start with Eisenhorn: Xenos.

Epic continuation of the Eisenhorn -Ravenor saga.

The best black library book so far with some of the best narrating also! When's the sequel?!

Amazing!

I've been a long time fan of Abnett and his work, my favorites including the Gaunt's Ghosts series, and both Inquisition trilogies, and to date I feel that this latest sequence is by far some of his greatest work! Loved the story so far, and I hope anyone else who listens will agree.

Well written novel to continue the mysterious and deadly adventures of bequin, isenhorn and ravenor. The middle of the book took some patience to get through, but the payoff was worth it. Sad to have to wait for the third book in the series!!

Ms. Keeley delivers an excellent narration, I found it difficult to listen to for long periods due to my own sensory issues. Ms. Keeley uses very sharp and loud 's, c, k' type sounds which were unpleasant for me. This is NOT a criticism of Ms. Keeleys performance, just my experience of it.

Excellent continuation of inquisitorial mystery!
