About this listen

The Multiverse, the void, existence itself.

The stakes have never been higher, and it all falls upon the three friends to save the day. Their trip to the Void will prove to be as harmful as lucrative.

Their hope? To gain enough power so they can break the Ranking itself.

What they haven't thought of is the effect that the absolute and total despair of the Void will have on them. Or even if they will be able to prevail if they ever manage to return.

This third book of the Physics of the Apocalypse series is a finale that will leave you in tears of sadness and joy.

This book does some things very well, emotive writing around grief and hopelessness in particular. However, its story writing is a mess. This series sets up so many threads to follow, and interestinh character dynamics, only to ignore or actively sabotage most of them, spending most of the book extremely monotenously, followed by anticlimactic resolutions that contain little skill or intelligence from the characters, just roadblocks and deus ex machinas, before finishing off with rushed and extremely unsatisfying ending. It feels like the author wrote themselves into a corner, channeled the resulting depression and easy quick solutions onto the page and just left it at that. Very disappointing given just how strong a note the previous book ended on.

Extremely depressing, underwhelming and a Weak Ending
