About this listen
Ballet, glamour, romance – and tragedy. Prima Donna is an enchanting, exciting story from Karen Swan, bestselling author of The Last Summer and Christmas by Candlelight.
Breaking the rules was what she liked best. That was her sport. Renegade, rebel, bad girl. Getting away with it.
Pia Soto is the sexy and glamorous prima ballerina, the Brazilian bombshell who's shaking up the ballet world with her outrageous behaviour. She's wild and precocious, and she's a survivor. She's determined that no man will ever control her destiny. But ruthless financier Will Silk has other ideas . . .
Sophie O'Farrell is Pia's hapless, gawky assistant, the girl-next-door to Pia's Prima Donna, always either falling in love with the wrong man or just falling over. Sophie sets her own dreams aside to pick up the debris in Pia's wake, but she's no angel.
When a devastating accident threatens to cut short Pia's illustrious career, Sophie has to step out of the shadows – and face up to the demons in her own life . . .

Love Karen Swan but this not one of my favourite s.
Karen Swan is one of my favourite authors but found the storyline of Prima Donna quite difficult to get interested in . Not sure whether that was because of the subject matters, or the fact that I found all the main characters were quite unlikeable until I was into the last third of the book. I will continue to read Karen Swan books as she is a great storyteller but could not relate to this book in the same way as to many of her others. Found some of the accents in the narration a bit irritating too.

This book is a good holiday read. With different story line that has kept me amused. Would have preferred the men’s parts to be read but men but overall ok

fantastic Read
really enjoyed the story. The Narrator was excellent and had very good language skills, good light and shade to the tone of her voice.

Loved it!
Again a great book by Karen Swan. Can’t get enough of them. I especially love the combination of unraveling mystery with longing romance. Narration was also very good!

Couldn’t wait until the next chapter
Absolutely compelling story and had I been reading it - I would have said it was a page turner. With audio books it’s a bit different - I just couldn’t wait to switch it back on to listen and the narrator was brilliant she made me visualise each character. Absolutely fantastic read/story. Now on to my 15th Karen Shaw book!

Another fantastic delight
I’ve now listened to 10 books by Karen Swan one after the other. When I’m doing mundane things I listen with delight as the stories weave.
The first 2 (3) hours of the audiobook never really captivate me, but I know if I stay with the unfolding story I’ll be drawn in to the point where I genuinely care about the characters.
I’ve had a curved ball in my health and Karen has lifted my spirits many times with the escapism she provides.
Authors can never know the extent of their ripples.
I’m grateful and appreciative for her talent and her dedication to sharing it.
