About this listen
Looking back at this moment in history, historians will ask if Americans knew they were living through the first case of criminal conspiracy between an American presidential candidate turned commander in chief and a geopolitical enemy. The answer might be: it was hard to see the whole picture. The stories coming in from around the globe have often seemed fantastical: clandestine meetings in foreign capitals, secret recordings in a Moscow hotel, Kremlin agents infiltrating the Trump inner circle...
Seth Abramson has tracked every one of these far-flung reports and now, in Proof of Collusion, he finally gives us a record of the unthinkable - a president compromising American foreign policy in exchange for the promise of future business and covert election assistance. The attorney, professor and former criminal investigator has used his exacting legal mind and forensic acumen to compile, organise and analyse every piece of the Trump-Russia story. His conclusion is clear: the case for collusion is staring us in the face. Drawing from American and European news outlets, he takes readers through the Trump-Russia scandal chronologically, putting the developments in context and showing how they connect. His extraordinary march through all the public evidence includes:
* How Trump worked for thirty years to expand his real estate empire into Russia even as he was rescued from bankruptcy by Putin’s oligarchs and Kremlin agents.
* How Russian intelligence gathered compromising material on him over multiple trips.
* How Trump recruited Russian allies and business partners while running for president.
* How he surrounded himself with advisers who engaged in clandestine negotiations with Russia.
* How Trump aides and family members held secret meetings with foreign agents and lied about them.
By pulling every last thread of this complicated story together, Abramson argues that - even in the absence of a Congressional investigation or a report from Special Counsel Mueller - the public record already indicates a quid pro quo between Trump and the Kremlin. The most extraordinary part of the case for collusion is that so much of it unfolded in plain sight.©2018 Seth Abramson (P)2018 Simon & Schuster UK
Brilliant

The content itself goes into great depth and is excellently researched. Definitely worth persevering with the format.
Better read?

This thoroughly researched, detailed analysis of the subject will have you reeling and ultimately wondering how Trump is not in prison already, and continues to get away with it. Must read for anyone that wants to understand how this shameful episode in history has come to pass.
Mind blowing

Painstakingly researched and curated, but then brought to life with compelling yet restrained prose.
Absolute tour de force - compelling

A Compelling, Scary And Important Story
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
The book demonstrates how far back this whole sorry saga goes, painting a vivid picture of criminality and the perpetrators that currently hold sway in American politics.
If you want to be ahead of the game on the collusion story, This book is a must read!
The definitive account of Trumps collusion.

I preferred Luke Harding's 'Collusion' and Seth Hettena's 'Trump/Russia'.
Probably better in print than as an audiobook

Sadly I found that this book contains no evidence. The author sadly allows his personal views and convictions dominate his work and it detracts from the credibility of his narrative.
I use narrative here because that is all this is. The narrative presented could be true however the narrative explanation for events is unanchord to any evidence.
Quoting anonymous sources is not evidence, especially as in hindsight most of those anonymous sources have now been revealed and in recent hearings under oath say they saw no evidence of collusion.
Is trump guilty, who knows. I do not claim to. My review is not about his guilt. my review is about the lack of proof in a book claiming to present it.
I worry thay we are creeping into a world where simply having a lot of other people agree with you can be passed off as proof or evidence. No matter how well written a story is, if there is no evidence then it is just that, a story.
If you think trump is guilty and want to ready a good story about how it could have happend and why, then you will love this book.
If like me your looking for compelling evidence so you can form your own view independently, then like me you will be disappointed.
where is the proof ?
