About this listen

Real Food on Trial continues the true and shocking story of a world-first: the unprecedented prosecution and persecution of Professor Tim Noakes, a distinguished scientist and medical doctor, in a case that stretched over more than four years. All for a single tweet giving his opinion on nutrition. Noakes and investigative journalist Marika Sboros have added up-to-date, robust scientific evidence in support of his views that launched the case against him.

Well narrated, couldn't stop listening to this! Just proves that no science is truly independent.

Enlightening

A great inspiring story about one guys fight against the system, pharmaceutical industry, food industry and the so called governing bodies of nutrition.... all of which are being paid to provide false information and refuse to believe that their decisions have led to the Obesity.

It was very long 21 hours and quite a bit of repetition, but very inspiring. I've done nothing but research LCHF and look at how i can remove/reduce carbs/grains from my diet.

Thank you Dr Noaks and Team

The evidence in this book may way change my life, my families lives and anyone else who will open there ears and listen.
Thanks to Tim Noakes, a brave man and to whom I have the most tremendous respect.

..... combined with cutting edge science and tons of common sense. What a fantastic book! Reading often like a fast-paced thriller, this true story of a modern-day David and Goliath struggle set in early 21st Century South Africa is a fascinating read, and the Audible version is extremely well produced and narrated. I loved this book and rate it as one of my top reads ever.
The revolutionary dietary science in it may just incidentally, change your life, save your life or simply help you be a much healthier person.

A Gripping Real-Life Courtroom Thriller....

Tim tells us that ‘science is never settled’ but his natural inquisitiveness got him into serious trouble. Professor Tim Noakes is one of the worlds greatest researchers and his willingness to admit his prior mistakes and process new information leaves other scientists in the dust shackled to their biases. This kind of openness should advance science and prevent stagnation within the field of nutrition but sadly it was met with egocentric derision and ultimately a legal ambush. Fortunately, common sense prevailed after a thorough examination of the literature. The Dietetics association of SA and their stooges should hang their heads in shame, how dare they prevent the advances that the world so desperately needs to protect their sponsors and other vested industries? This is a must read for those looking to understand the truth behind the crippling of nutrition science and the people’s health by vested interests that are happy wallowing within the status quo while they sell us their palliative drugs with horrible side effects. Thank God for Tim Noakes and journalist, Marika Sboros, who had the will to stand up to these Goliath bullies.

A must read for anyone interested in the truth

It seems to me that everyone should read or listen to this book. Well written, and narrated.

Fascinating yet alarming

Although the whole book is interesting and eye opening, part three contains a lot of the science behind high fat and real food recommendations. Forget what you think you know about saturated fat. Vegans will probably be the most difficult to convince. We have been bamboozled by the (added) sugar and carbs industry for too long. They are killing us.

Reads like a thriller

I loved the science and the history of human nutrition. The extensive review of the research and explanation in a easy to digest format.
The narration was starchy but I got used to it.
So much information I need to listen again. Highly recommend.

Thank you to the wonderful Tim Noakes

Exellent performed, difficult to stop listening even late at night. A four year trial compressed to 20 hours. Easy listen even though a lot of facts.

Horrifying and nailbiting
