About this listen
Cameron Horne has it all: an intelligent, beautiful, and loving wife, a great home, and a successful and important career. His life is the American dream come true. Until things begin to change.
Without warning, he exhibits strange behavior he can't seem to control, loses time and memories, has horrific nightmares, and finds blood on his hands that may or may not be his own.
When a mysterious young man who seems to know the future begins appearing in Cameron's backyard, things go from bad to worse. As voices and visions flood his mind, and shadowy figures watch his every move, something deep inside him comes awake, manifesting in acts of extreme rage and violence.
Is he losing his mind, or is something evil stalking him, possessing him from within and turning Cam from the mild-mannered man he's always been into someone else...something else....
The truth is coming for Cameron Horne, and there's going to be hell to pay.

Rogue is a haunting psychological horror novel that masterfully explores the thin line between reality and madness. Greg F. Gifune crafts a deeply unsettling narrative as readers follow Cameron Horne, a seemingly successful man whose life spirals out of control through episodes of memory loss, inexplicable rage, and chilling encounters.
Gifune’s prose is immersive and atmospheric, capturing the protagonist’s descent into paranoia and confusion with an unsettling authenticity. The story grips you with its layered tension, leaving you questioning what is real and what might be a manifestation of darker, otherworldly forces.
This is not a conventional horror tale—it’s a slow-burn journey into the human psyche, filled with dread and ambiguity. The book resonates deeply with readers who appreciate psychological depth and a narrative that challenges perceptions.
Highly recommended for fans of introspective horror and those seeking a story that lingers in your thoughts long after the final page.

The writing was really excellent. It was captivating, had an excellent flow, really great dialogs, and you really slowly felt how the main character was being dragged out of his comfort zone. The story was also really good, and kept me interested practically all the way through.
My main critique was first of all the ending. While it fit the story, I just didn’t like it. But that’s a personal assessment, because the story build up to it nicely, it just didn’t cater to me specifically. Also, there were small clues as to the nature of the ending throughout the story, unfortunately they were a bit too ambiguous to really make sense, unless you read the story through a second time. That may be a both a good and a bad thing, but I had hoped the story turned out otherwise. Also, the last third part of the story did drag a little bit, because our main character is now so far down into his dark experiences, that a lot of the dialogs become too philosophical and weird.
I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by Steven Jay Cohen. At first I really didn’t like how I narrated, because he had a slow and depressing voice. But within a short while, I realised it really fit the book, and just emphasised how it was perfect for the main characters mind set, so it fit really perfectly. He did good voices to separate characters, and was quite clear in his speech, and thus very enjoyable.
Overall I highly recommend the book for everyone. The story is captivating, the writing is superb, and it really made you feel for the main character. The audiobook was also a real standout. Had the last third of the book been a bit more focused, and had the ending taken a different turn, it would have been a clear 5/5 for me.
I received this audiobook for free in return for a review. I have no affiliation with the author, the narrator, the publisher, or their pets (Although I am sure the latter are quite nice!).
