About this listen

In the late-night quiet of the caravan park shower room, Lon Taylor washes away the filth of the Western Australian mines. He's not looking for anyone, but when Casey offers, Lon doesn't turn him down.

Welcoming the young man in his big, hairy arms, Lon provides a safety to Casey that he has never known, and Casey wants to stay forever. Still reeling from the breakup of his family years ago, Lon's not sure he's ready for the responsibility of the comfort and security Casey craves.

Perhaps Lon can risk opening his heart again and hoping for a brighter future. Casey has some pretty big skeletons in his past to deal with. Lon wonders what Casey will do when he finds out how badly Lon failed at protecting the ones he loved eight years ago.

I was taken on ride filled with sex, thrills, mystery, despair, redemption & love. However the narrator should've been australian so he can do all the voices in a proper australian accent.

Loved this audiobook but didn't like the narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a good story, set in Australia, and if you can overlook / ignore the fact that the narrator isn't Australian and doesn't sound Australian at all, then yes.

Any additional comments?

I'm pretty sure there are good Australian voice actors/narrators out there, so why use an American? Randy Fuller is generally a good narrator, but it annoys me when dialogues between two (or more) characters from Australia don't sound remotely Australian. (An American saying "arse", "mate",etc. just sounds weird, imo)

A lovely story, but not the right narrator

He's perfectly fine in himself, but it makes the Aussie dialogue very clunky to hear someone being called 'mate'or 'love'in a US accent. Otherwise a sweet story but with some very dark character backstories, there could be triggers for survivors of sexual assault.

Such a pity the narrator isn't Australian.
