About this listen
Miranda Cheever has been blessed with many things, but great beauty is not among them. Still, when she meets Viscount Tuner, she knows she is meant for him. As the years go by, fate is as kind to Miranda as it is harsh on the Viscount. He's skeptical about love with good reason - but he may be falling for Miranda.

Awful narration tainted the story
My goodness, what terrible narration! It was delivered in a ridiculous monotone which sounded half-drunk and slurred throughout. It was like listening to an aged aunt reading to you after a bottle of her strongest sherry. The characters were read in a stilted and unlikeable way, completely ruining Julia Quinn’s perfectly adequate story.
I have listened to most other Julia Quinn books on Audible and they have, without exception, been enriched by Rosalyn Landor’s outstanding narration. Perhaps this has just exaggerated how badly this book has been read. I have no doubt that I would have liked the book far better had it also been read by Ms Landor. What a pity!

Loved it.
I really got into this book from the beginning to the end. It enthralled me to the point I was not sure if this was going to disappoint me with the ending so near. But as with most Julia Quinn’s books, it kept me guessing until the end. If you are a fan of Julia Quinn’s books, then I am sure this will not disappoint.

Loved the story
I listened to this story way into the early hours, didn’t want to stop. That doesn’t happen often. Thank you for hours of entertainment.

Great story
This was a nice story spoilt by poor narration. Julia Quinn’s writing was predictable but amusing. It kept me engaged and I was always keen to listen to the next chapter. Why this narrator was chosen I don’t know!? She lacks cadence and it can mislead the listener’s comprehension of the scene.

Rubbish narrative
Julia Quinn’s story was not one of her best, imo, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
However, NOT having Rosalyn Landor as narrator was a HUGE MISTAKE. It was not as entertaining as usual, the funny bits were harder to pick out, the sex scenes were robotic. It just didn’t ’gel’.

Bad narration
The narration ruins an otherwise lovely story, the main character sounds far too young and it comes across a bit creepy!

Terrible narration but good story
Having listened to most of Julia Quinns books narrated by Rosalyn Landor, I was optimistic about this book. The narration however was simply terrible. It was all one tone, a rushed pace and bad voices for the characters. It honestly was so bad as to put me off listening immediately and I almost stopped several times but I am glad I preservered as the underlying story line was good enough to just about overcome the narration. If you do download this story be aware the standard of audiobook is vastly below Julia's other books so you don't get a shock like I did! If it could be re-recorded with Rosalyn, I suspect it could be one of my favourites however!

Great story but terrible narrator
I'm a big fan of Julia Quinn but this book was sadly let down by the terrible narration. Her voice was monotonous and hard to listen to.
