Fascinating and interesting throughout. I was worried that it would feel like old ground revisited but I enjoyed the whole book, so much that I intend to listen to it again.

The book is only let down by the audible production team. There is not a sufficiently recognisable transition or break between each of the short chapters. This made my mind confused, I sometimes struggled to realise we were now talking about a completely different creature for the first part of each new chapter.

I expected abit more on the earth's continental movements and effects on say evolution of animals and flora as we know it today with large landmasses colliding and uplifting - this was only chapter 1 but discussed. For example say the 5 mountain chain collisions today in the Karakkoram region (Tian-sha, Himalayas, Kunlun etc.) which is still one of the most techtonically active areas of the world, I believe, and impacts on the environment there (few documentaries other than say the snow leopard's)... The other chapters were interesting documentaries from different continents, especially from lesser documented South American cloud forests. The narrative is from different producers of the series and so you get a more producers' viewpoints that make it different from say a typical David Attenborough recitation (which I also enjoy). I subsequently bought the blu ray of this series to delve more into the audiobook.
