I had already fallen in love with Sid Sinclair from the previous books; I love his alpha-ness which makes him strong and domineering but always puts women first with his heightened protectiveness (like all the VC Warriors) but it was his humour that first drew me in and I am so glad that Ms Gabelman introduced Lana into his life. Lana Fitzpatrick is his perfect match; she is a very special lady with a great sense of protecting the innocent, putting herself in danger to help others, she’s intelligent, has a fabulous sense of humour and fun and she knows how to handle herself in a fight. She is another perfect addition to the ladies in the VC Warrior family.

Jeffrey Kafer's performance, is once again amazing: he IS the voice of the VC Warriors. His performance embodies the strength, power and "alpha-ness" of the male characters and although he doesn't change his voice dramatically for each character (male or female) the subtle variations to pace and tone certainly transport me into each and every scene.

This book, heck this series so far, certainly doesn't shy away from difficult themes; human trafficking, physical abuse, racism, sexual abuse... luckily Ms Gabelman tackles these subjects with compassion, engaging prose and balances out the horror with beautiful romance, oodles of humour and great banter.

This whole story gripped me and kept me turning the pages. The romance aspect between Lana and Sid built nicely with the sexual anticipation building at a good pace plus I loved the way that the Jill/Slade story developed and enjoyed the insights there too. There are a few shocking twists in the crime/thriller aspect within this book that I didn’t see coming – I love that!

This like the whole series is one fantastic listen. It full of very sexy vampire warriors fighter on the good team. It is so funny in many places that I'm laughing loud. There are only four in audio this being the latest. Do yourself a favour
and at least to the first book Damon. You won't be sorry.
