About this listen

A Gotrek & Felix novel

Between adventures and desperate for money, Gotrek and Felix work as sewerjacks in Nuln. Little do they know that villainous skaven lurk in the darkness, planning to tear down the mighty city....

Listen to it because

It's classic Gotrek and Felix which introduces a threat that will follow them throughout their heroic careers and even threaten Gotrek in his second life in the Mortal Realms: the sinister Grey Seer Thanquol.

The story

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask.

Seeking to undermine the very fabric of the Empire with their arcane warp-sorcery, the skaven, twisted Chaos rat-men are at large in the reeking sewers beneath the city. Led by Grey Seer Thanquol, the servants of the Horned Rat are determined to overthrow this bastion of humanity. Against such forces, what possible threat can just two hard-bitten adventurers pose?

Masterclass

A fantastic story presented by a fantastic narrator. Jonathan Keeble (my all time favourite) is somehow able to do just is to the monstrous Skaven. A feat I’d of thought impossible

Marvelously immersive and entertaining

Loved it. Another fantastic entry in the journeys of Gottrek and Felix, this is a fine continuation of their cooperative adventure and a both funny and frightening look inside the mystical Skaven society. The ratmen constantly step on each other's tails in their attempts to siege a city from beneath the streets.

Here! Rats!

'Skavenskayer', by William King, is a must-read instalment in the Gotrek and Felix series of books for lovers of the previous novel, 'Trollslayer', as well as general fans of Warhammer Fantasy and video games such as Vermintide I and Vermintide II. The setting of Nuln constantly felt comforting, familiar, whilst also dark and brooding. You can smell the iron in the air, the taint of sewer filth running through and under the streets, and hear the quick nipping of rats in the alleyways. I highly enjoyed this novel. Onto 'Daemonslayer'!

This series of stories is one of my favourite books. I loved reading everyone and now it is even better with someone give such an excellent performance telling the story. This gives the characters new life.

Brilliant series of books

I can't fault the William King Gotrek and Felix novels, I absolutely love them, this one could have ended up as just a bad advert for all the different Skaven models Games Workshop make, but it's actually been pulled together into a really engaging story that, as a man in his mid 30s, I'm not ashamed to sat I thoroughly enjoyed!
