About this listen
On a beach in southern England a dog returns to its owner with a human hand in its mouth. The Hand belongs to Henry, the homeless eccentric who has been wandering south west England for the last 30 years. A local policeman and his colleague, in piecing together his movements prior to his death, uncover an extraordinary life. But as their investigations also shed lights on their town, the story of Henry, and those who tell it, begins to affect the policeman's own life in ways he never expected.

Not my best read!
I was expecting something more from this story. It crept along and, in parts, kept me interested... but what an uneventful ending, and I couldn't help thinking that I'd wasted twenty hours of my life listening to it! Admittedly I had just finished the third part of Stieg Larsson's trilogy, so a difficult act to follow!

This is the most interesting thing about this book
The title is intriguing but the content is so disappointing. There are two part-stories running through the book and the detective part is alright, but the demise of a marriage that runs parallel to it leaves one disinterested totally, in fact I didn't care what happened to them. It was poor pseudo-psychology at its most trite. The only reason I finished it was I am stuborn and refused to give up; and I did want to know about the detective story ending. It could have been halved in length but I dont thing that what would be left would be interesting enough to bother with. Find something better to do with your time.
