I listened to this in almost one hit, saving the last two hours for when I was in my own and I could give it my full attention, Beashel doesn’t shy away from how brutal motherhood can be and how it’s one of the most beautiful experiences of your life whilst also being one of the hardest things you’ll ever commit too. It’s so good, so readable and so relatable.

I loved where this book took my head and my heart, even when I didn’t want to go there. Highly recommended.

This is a powerful and beautifully written book highlighting how far society still has to go when it comes to tackling the inequality that still exists between men and women’s parenting roles. It tackles this issue bravely, speaking truthfully about some of the most taboo issues surrounding motherhood and domestic labour. I love the way the novel is written as though Bea is speaking directly to her daughter. It’s a story about motherhood, love, grief, friendship, marriage, and a woman’s right to choose, I highly recommend it!

A must read for any new parent or anyone contemplating parenthood!

The narrator was amazing …. But

I really REALLY wanted to like this book….

No one in this book was likeable (well maybe Mable was ok).
Everyone was entitled and just annoying. No one thought through their decision, they made rushed and unnecessary decisions and then they were surprised when they had to face the consequences…

This is prime example of spoilt people getting pregnant for clout and presence online with out realising that raising children is not easy and full of sacrifices …
