About this listen
Malachi Booth is a supermodel. He’s used to moving about the world, sleeping with whoever takes his fancy, and watching the money roll in. The last place he expects to find himself is on a run-down farm in Cornwall, but a bad bout of bronchitis means that he’s stuck there. The only compensation for this dismal state of affairs is that the farmer is very good looking, even if he’s the grumpiest person that Malachi has ever met.
Cadan Landry’s farm has been in his family for hundreds of years but that doesn’t make it any easier to make ends meet. As a consequence, Cadan could be called grumpy. Most men would consider a supermodel collapsing at their feet while dressed in the skimpiest pair of briefs ever made to be a sign of good fortune. Cadan just resents the fact that the young man is taking up space in his cow field.
These two men are from different worlds, but can they ever meet in the middle?
From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a novella about snarky models, misconceptions, and finding a home in the most unlikely of places.

absolutely wonderful listen.
Independent reviewer for GRR, I was gifted the audio version of this book.
Oh this was so delightful!
Malachi finds himself stranded on a farm with a nasty chest infection. Caden owns said farm.
What follows is a wonderful story of not judging what you see, and a battle of wits that had me laughing out loud walking up to work.
Malachi is not ashamed of his job or his personality and is a very much take him as he is, or lump it. Caden is the same, but he starts to see a different Mal, one who creeps under his skin and into his heart. The same heart he was trying to keep locked up.
I loved the idea of the strings pulling Mal to stay at the farm. Gave me a Twitterpated kinda feeling.
When things go wrong, I was surprised the way it went. I was expecting Mal to be the bringer of doom.
Joel Leslie narrates. It's been a while since I had a non American accent in my ear and Joel Leslie NEVER fails to disappoint. His voices for all the characters is spot on, and the accent that Caden has is subtle, but very clearly Cornish. It comes out stronger when he gets annoyed, or excited and I loved that.
I can't fault this book, nor the narration and as such can only get . .

Fantastic
Another fantastic story by Lily Morton. Malachi and Cadan are super characters to get to know and follow and an interesting road to happiness. Joel Leslie did a amazing job with the narration.

Opposites attract in this cute romance
This story is mostly – but not all – from Malachi’s point of view. That means we get to see his laissez-faire attitude as well as his clear impressions of the grumpy Cadan. Now, Cadan has reasons for being grumpy – that were super heart-breaking – but he finds a way to accommodate the sick Malachi while still holding down the fort. Or, rather, the farm.
As with all Lily Morton stories, there are moments of great hilarity. Malachi’s adventure in the kitchen being one I could completely relate to. There were also moments of great depths – when the men really look into each other’s soul and find the hurt. And I got my happy ending with a lovely grand gesture so, yay!
The incomparable Joel Leslie was back narrating. He and Lily make a dynamic duo and it’s as if they’re made for each other. I’m hoping for more from them in this new year. Totally enjoyed and totally recommend.

Fun and Quirky
Read this book last year and loved the story then, and Joel's narration does it justice.
It's quirky and fun with lots of funny moments. Love the secondary characters, Caden's Mum and Malachi's agent are great
I received a copy of this audiobook from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

Fabulous story and narration
I have yet to read a book by this author that I didn't love and this was no different. This has been the most enjoyable read since reading Charlie Sunshine.
This story was very well written with wonderful characters who had amazing chemistry. I was sucked in by the very start by the back and forth witty and snarky banter between the 2 MCs. This was such a sweet, romantic and humorous story filled with the lovely British quips that you would expect from this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and couldn't stop listening. I did so in one listen at juat over 4.5 hours.
Joel Leslie gave a wonderful performance, bringing the story to life and made it a pleasure to listen to. He expressed all the emotions wonderfully and did different voices for each character that were distinct and well suited for each of them.

A lovely romance!
Mal and Cadan make such a lovely couple. Mal falls sick and is taken care by the grumpy farmer… really good care. Although it all starts with a forced proximity, it’s clear these two want to be together. It’s fun and serious at times, and their deserved hea is well delivered. Great performance by the narrator Joel Leslie.

Glorious
Gorgeous. I loved Mal and the way the farm (and Caden) broke down the walls he'd built up to protect himself.
Brilliant novella and another excellent performance.

Listen for chill gay romance
I loved that this book just had a simple cute unlikely romance and not loads of dark depressing drama paired with very snarky and sarcastic characters. The ending was very cute and happy. Recommend as an easy chill listen
