About this listen
Critic reviews
"This story...features a single narrator who mimics Harrison Ford as if he were younger, playing a young Han Solo with eerie authenticity. Sound effects and John Williams's stunning Star Wars music are used throughout to meticulous effect." ( AudioFile)
A GOOD SOLO STORY

Paradis Snare tells a story of events before Han Solo joins the Imperial Navy and is an absolute must if you have not read this Star Wars novel or if you are stuck on which one to get next.
The narration is well presented with enthusiasm and a good understanding of the characters and the portrayal of the Star Wars universe. The story is so so, but the fact it is Han Solo makes it even more enjoyable.
I really enjoyed the audio book and do not regret the purchase !
FIVE STARS for Star Wars enthusiasts !

What would have made Star Wars: The Han Solo Trilogy: The Paradise Snare better?
The character of Han was too dreamy and romantic, there was too much teen romance and not enough action or edge. Considering Garris Shrike is supposed to be a huge mentor of Han's he barely featured. Han's transformation from Prince Charming to embittered loner over a girl exiting his life for his benefit was extremely unrealistic and unworthy. It should have taken far more to effect this change. The story felt light, lacked depth and had some really embarrassingly naïve dialogue.Would you ever listen to anything by A. C. Crispin again?
I might give him another try - but there was little I enjoyed in this. Perhaps the short form of the story limited his horizons, but with nearly three hours of storytime, so much more could have been achieved.Did David Pittu do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?
He was okay with the aliens, but didn't do a good job with Han. I bought this audio book because other narrators, such as Jonathan Davis have done outstanding interpretations of the movie versions. A review I read led me to believe this would be the case here. But David's Han sounded just like his natural speaking voice, which sounded very similar to young Mark Hamill.David is definitely the man to narrate the adventures of Luke Skywalker, but at no point was his characterisation of Han Solo believable.
What character would you cut from Star Wars: The Han Solo Trilogy: The Paradise Snare?
I'd cut out the version of Han that was written and hope that one who could believably become the smuggler we know could be substituted. It was hard to care for any of the surrounding characters as they just didn't have enough history or depth - I'd have had more of everybody rather than less, but with keener investigation of their personalities.Any additional comments?
Give David Pittu some Luke Skywalker stories to narrate. He'd be brilliant. But recast the voice actor for this one please.'Han Solo' in name only. Not good.

Why choose a narrator who haven't even seen the movies to try and guess on the names?
It's with a C
