About this listen

Grief brought them together. Will love tear them apart?

Ginger McCormick is living her very own happily-ever-after. With her precious newborn daughter and handsome firefighter husband by her side, life couldn’t be any sweeter in Sandersville Beach. When a freak accident occurs, and her world is suddenly turned upside down, Ginger can no longer bear to be near the ocean that anchored so many happy memories. Nevertheless, her best friend's beachside wedding is on the horizon, and Ginger must face her biggest fears to be there for Emeline on her special day.

Across town, Doctor Jonathon Walden struggles to move on from his former life and career in Atlanta after relocating to the sleepy beach town. He mostly keeps to himself and yearns for the day when the ghosts of his past will no longer haunt him.

When Ginger and Jonathon both realize they need outside help to mend their broken hearts, the two run into each other at a local meeting and develop an instant friendship. Can they resist the undeniable connection they feel for each other as they navigate their grief together? Or will they decide to go it alone and walk away from a second chance at love?

Give me more

5 out of 5 stars. This is a nice romance audio book.

Ginger and Emmy are friends.Emmy is an amazing friend to ginger. Ginger life has changed forever as an accident occurred. Daisy their daughter is left with her momma and grandma. Jonathan has also been through a lot and has rerouted in this seaside town. What can happen with these two when they meet. This book has had me in tears and laughter. The way the author emphasis her voice on each of the character helps set the tone even more. The author does a brilliant job of the audio. I could see this book as a movie. I highly recommend reading /buying the audio of this book you will not regret it.

Beautiful story full of emotion

This was my first ever audio book and I actually had no idea what to expect – would I like it? Would I be able to get into the story? But I have to be honest and say I was pleasantly surprise. I guess I was a little put off when I saw it was over 7 hours long and as I am a fast reader was worried I would lose interest but I found that I was able to listen at times when reading would have been inconvenient and the time actually went faster than I thought as I was engrossed in Ginger’s story.
I really liked the story, it was an emotional read and the author definitely got the feels across. I did kind of guess what might happen but that didn’t matter because I really liked the characters that I was listening about. Ginger was a sweet character and I really felt for her with everything that happened. Her love for Rusty and Daisy just poured off the pages at the beginning and so did her grief as the story progressed. I could feel the connection she found with Jonathon, I really liked him!!
The narration of the story was good; it took me a while to get used to but the narrator’s voice had a nice soothing, melody tone to it which I found quite relaxing!
I would definitely listen to another audio book from this author in the future.

second chance

Can two widowers find love and happiness again? Dr. Jonathan left Atlanta trying to heal his heart after his wife passing from cancer. Ginger has a little daughter for whom she needs to put her life together after the accident that took away her firefighter and ocean rescuer's life. A sweet love story. Great audiobook.

Loved this!

As someone who NEVER cries when reading a book, this story truly had me in tears at some points!

Wooow! Words just cannot describe how utterly beautiful this story was!

Ginger is on a high living her best life with her new-born and her husband when tragedy strikes, turning her world upside down. To deal with her grief, she joins a grief counselling group where she meets Jonathon, who is also dealing with his own loss.

I loved how this story progressed. We really got to see the love Ginger had for her husband; we got to see how she dealt with the loss; how she and Jonathon helped each other, and saw their friendship progressed. I’m still reeling with how amazing my reading experience was! Having already read a few books in the series, I can say this is definitely the best and my fav (thus far) imo.

It was beautiful, it was emotional, it was everything I needed in a book!
