About this listen

Steel Foundations asks the question: What if a 16th-century German knight was thrust into a world of magic, gods, and monsters, forced to navigate the unknown while mourning the loss of everything he once knew?

Leon Jäger, a stoic and unyielding knight, lives by a simple code: repay kindness with a river of ambrosia, and slights with total destruction. When an unexplainable force pulls him into a foreign world where magic flows and monsters roam, his creed will be tested like never before.

Struggling to comprehend powers beyond his imagination, Leon must master the mystical art of Qi cultivation while hiding his abilities from those who might exploit them. As he maneuvers through this strange land of gods, magic, and Cultivation, Leon must not only survive but carve out his place—without losing himself in the process.

Steel Foundations blends the epic drama of Western fantasy with the intricate philosophy of Chinese cultivation, wrapped in the fast-paced thrills of LitRPG. Swords, sorcery, and mystical forces converge in this unique isekai adventure, where Eastern tradition meets a knight's resolve.

Good main character, has potential.

The story had a quite good beginning and I really like the mc. The blend of rpg and cultivation is also quite enjoyable.
however! I don't enjoy that the mc is forced into a party with Hana forever. Hana is quite annoying in the beginning. But otherwise it was enjoyable.

Disepointed. Had so mutch potential!

liked most of the start, was not the best intro to the new world, but i still had hope for the story as a whole. but it went downhill after the first few figths. and thats to bad becouse i liked the mc at first, silent and listening, smart pluss in the start. i still wanted to like the story... trying to be short on the negative here:

1. does nothing to try and understands new powers

2. (miner spoiler) he gets a notis from the system saying he just glimpsed a importent part of ki and he should medetate on this importent moment. that is not is not spoken of again after that importent event and notise from system.

3. (spoiler) gets marked by a god and just acksepts it, like no problem, when we had been told he dident like churches and gods or atleast dident understand the gods of this new world.

4. falls face first in to legendary+++++ gear. its obvious that someone is puling strings to hand him everithing as fast as posible. i am all for a competent mc who works hard and gets steonger, even op, but not like this!

5.(spoiler) gets sadled with a companion fairly early witch he goes on about in his head is not his path, he wish to face his path to power alone, where he choses the path. 30min later they are soul linked, and best friends.

to bad, becouse it had many good points and i realy liked this new way and caracter type to a new world with a system and ki cultivating.
