Loved it! It was full of twists and turns and really well preformed.
I couldn't stop listening to it.
However I felt the end needed another chapter to close it. As I'm left wondering about the characters.
Morven Christie was perfect in this role. I always find her accent is amazing as she is Scottish.

Thought this was very run of the mill and while there was a final twist, it left the book’s major plot strand hanging, very odd. Why do authors keep on and on using unanswered voicemails as a plot device, anyone would text if they needed to grab someone’s attention? Is irritating.
I thought Morven Christie’s narration was excellent, but Rory Kinnear was just wrong for Marcus - too old and too pompous.

A cleverly thought out novel with believable characters though Tess was a bit annoying and I felt sorry for Josh. Ideas about class and snobbery were toecurlingly good. I didn't want it to end.

So well read. The performances certainly made this more gripping than had I read it myself. Highly recommend this book!

Amazing book! Particularly enjoyed the narration

Once again Sabine Durrant sets her latest psychological thriller in the moneyed streets of gentrified Wandsworth, so expect loads of premium name dropping and 'kitchen suppers'. I did find the central characters, Marcus and Tessa,
who met when they both worked for the same PR company, insufferably smug if I'm honest, making it difficult to have any sympathy for their plight.

I think that the plot, which switched between the first person narrative of the couple to be a bit convoluted at times and there were a few stands which I expected to play an important role in the story, but they did not.

The narrators, Rory Kinnear and Morven Christie both did a sterling job, trying to inject some life into the somewhat staccato text. That said, Kinnear did whisper some of the female parts in a very odd manner.

The ending was far too abrupt considering how long it took the reader to get there.

The 2 narrators are excellent. Best I've heard. The male voice at times sounds like Hugh Grant. I listened to this in 36 hours. Fab book. It hits the intimate feelings of women and men. Interesting story. Unexpected ending.

Enjoyed this book - right up until the last chapter. I stuck with it as the narration was very good indeed and kept me listening, though the story was stayed in parts, too much lengthy explaintion of scene setting and writing for writings sake which did not contribute much to the narrative and became tedious. Both main characters fairly stupid, selfish and unlikeable so no one to root for or engage with (apart from Josh). Fair bit of implausabilty throughout, (happy with that if it works creatively - but no) scenes contrived to fit a story rather than being likely. one e.g if you are at the top of your game in the media world portrayed in the book there is no way such events would ever take place. So now to the ending?... OMG did the author run out of time or ideas? Totaly dissapointing and implausible - this would never happen in this way, so many loose ends and threads just left hanging??? B-

This starts off wonderfully - rather like a Patricia HIghsmith. However, as the hours drag on, I realise the scene is "being set" - but for what? The print version is 352 pages, about 100 pages too long. You lose all interes t in these Sloanies/yuppies and their various misdeeds and problems.....I have not actually finished this. I will probably stagger on to the end - but without much interest.
Excellent performances by the readers.

I cannot fault this latest offering from Sabine Durrant. I have enjoyed all her books so far, but this the best yet. The characters are all very real and very cleverly observed, and the chain of events, spiralling towards the end, one mistake or mischance following another, have a horrible inevitability about them. Despite that, this book keeps you guessing, and the ending is a real shock. The narration, from both male and female readers, is perfect.
