Great book
Well narrated and written brilliantly, it’s finally a look at the psychopathic mind without pulling any punches. One of the best of the genre I’ve ever read.

A good listen
some of the narrators voices are a tad comical but certainly an interesting jump into the madness of some of the worlds meanest minds

TERRIFYING.
At first very annoying the deadpan, matter of fact delivery is entirely appropriate to the subject matter - of people doing unspeakably awful things who don't basically give a damn. The delivery conveys that lack of emotion on the part of the perpetrator. It's like listening to the inner thoughts of homicidal and sadistic robots. To understand how these people work you have get you head round personal gratification untempered by morality or empathy. It is a very unpleasant place to be - but someone has to do the job. I don't envy the author but I think what he is trying to convey deserves our respect and is worthy of our time. The discussion can be very discursive at times but that does shed light on what can be understood from other cases. This is a story from the dirty and dusty psychological coal face rather than the tidy and clean mine engineer's office. It is a journey into darkness that I believe anyone with the moral fibre for it should take - so they can re-emerge into the light better informed, even if saddened, about what goes on in the hidden places. If it covers what has been written about before then I haven't read any of it, so as a first step into the darkness it seems to work very well.

More than 40% of the content is written in his previous book. Whilst still interesting, it’s a bit repetitive.

Perfect listening if this is your thing
loved it esp. as a retired police officer and aware of some of these cases. only downside I would say was the authors betrayal of various accents make and female. But worth a listen.

Extremely interesting
I love this writer's style, all his books are written with honesty and openness, he writes with depth and interest on each of the criminal minds he has studied, but does not use a lot of the jargon one often finds in such books, instead he is down to earth and this makes his books far more interesting. I have not read a book by Christopher Berry-Dee i did not find interesting and in depth, I highly recommend all of his books. The narrator chosen for this works very well, his time and pitch are lovely and even making him very easy to listen to, a lovely smooth voice.

Stop, Start ruins the topic
As another reviewer said, the book feels like it never really gets started. The constant quotes, birthplaces and dates stall the narrative.
I have no doubt the author is an expert, however it feels like he never completely shares, instead the constant gloating that “he knows more than anyone else!” just jars. Wasn’t for me unfortunately.
