Summary

A riddle, a game, and a clue in the garden. Don’t miss the thrilling sixth book in the award-winning Accidental Alchemist Mystery series, perfect for fans of cozy mysteries and urban fantasy.

When Zoe Faust sees the ghost of a murdered young woman, is it really a spirit—or a flesh and blood woman who stopped aging because she’s a fellow alchemist?

Sixteen years ago, high school student Ridley Price discovered a secret she planned to reveal through a party game—but someone killed her first. The baffling crime was never solved. Zoe’s friend Heather has always wondered: Which of the seven guests at the party killed Ridley? When the newly appeared ghost turns dangerous, threatening people they love, Zoe teams up with her gargoyle roommate, Dorian, to unmask the supposed specter.

another great story

I love the accidental alchemist series and this new story did not disappoint. At times it seemed like the editor wasn't paying attention and allowed the characters to repeat themselves unnecessarily, but a minor distraction on the whole.
Julia Motyka is an excellent narrator, she brings the characters to life perfectly.
I can't wait for the next I book to find out how Max reacts yo meeting Dorian.

Excellent as always.

Beautifully written and narrated, keeps you guessing right up to the end…
I love the way the author talks about herbs and how they can be used as well as the colourful characters and unusual sleuthing.

Great story

I've loved all of Gigi Pandian's alchemy stories, so far and can't wait to read the 7th book. The narrator has done an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, but it's annoying to hear about 'erbs instead of herbs. Book 6 is my second favourite after book 1!!

Enjoyable

Another good addition to the series. Engaging characters and an interesting fantasy. Recommended urban fantasy without ghouls, shifters and other boring creatures.

Another good story but...

As the other reviews say another good story if you like the others you'll enjoy this one. But unlike the others where Zoe's is the main Narrator she has very little voice in this one, her inner monologue and story is missing. Zoe is just another character and it's not quite the same. it's almost like not written the same way.

Another lovely story about Zoe and the gang

I really have come to thoroughly enjoy the Accidental Alchemist series. It has heart, and humour, and plenty of intriguing moments to keep you guessing. There are possibly a few too many repetitions of certain phrases through this one I noticed, and that’s why it’s 4 stars rather than 5.

Short but very Sweet

Not as long as had hoped for an alchemist book but ok. Loved the story and as a reader that has brought the whole series, I just love diving into a new one! Bit unsure if I wanted to spend my credit on the book but caved in eventually. Narration good as always and could not be more happier.

Always a lovely story can’t wait for the next one.

A fantastic book incorporating two for my favourite passions food and murder mystery. Dorian always makes me laugh and inspires me to be more creative with my cooking while Zoe journeys encourages me to be patient, have courage and work smart towards my goals. I love every book in the series. A great read and reread.
Julia is an exceptional narrator that brings so much life to the story and characters especially Dorian.

Another gem,,,,

I stumbled across the Alchemist series when trying to find a copy of Paulo Coelho’s Alchemist to listen to, gave it a shot and enjoyed every one of the series. Well worth the punt!!
