Great book!
As a highly sensitive person, I've lost count of how many times I've been told to just "not take things so personally." It can feel like the world wasn't built for people who feel things as deeply as we do. That's why this book was such a game-changer for me.
Rather than treating our sensitivity like a disorder to be fixed, this book embraces it as a powerful gift. The author gets what it's really like to move through the world with heightened emotions, intense experiences, and super-charged senses. No more feeling like a weirdo!
But it's not just an "it gets better" pep talk. This book is packed with concrete strategies to help HSPs live more intentionally and with greater self-acceptance. The sections on setting boundaries and protecting your energy were incredibly validating. Finally, an approach that supports our needs rather than forcing us to become someone we're not. This book shows us how to take control and create lives that are authentically nurturing. I can't recommend this book enough. It's equal parts reassuring and empowering - the ultimate guide to stopping the self-denial and beginning to truly thrive as an HSP.

A book on HSPs that I can recommend to clients!
I enjoyed this book on so many levels. As a therapist who works with anxiety and trauma, I have worked with many HSPs and empaths who share many of the same traits. HSPs are wired differently though, and I love how well this book explains the science behind it because for many, it is important to have validation beyond a supportive word. It was great to also learn about the sensation-seeking aspect of HSPs, as I have seen this manifest in seeking out new relationships, but this explanation really expanded it for me and also gave it a name. There are so many excellent explanations and references in this book, I really can't say enough about it. It is well-written and well-narrated, and I plan to add it to my Bibliotherapy resources to recommend to clients when appropriate. HSPs are so often misunderstood, and I'm so glad to see that this great resource is available!

Great read for anyone who's felt overwhelmed by their sensitivity. It breaks down seven habits that can really change how you navigate your world as an HSP. The best part is that it helps you change what feels like a challenge into your biggest strength. I was glad for the practical tips on improving relationships and making decisions based on your intuition, and for the strategies for dealing with stress and finding creative outlets. If you've ever felt out of place because of your sensitivity, this book shows you how it's actually a gift. It's straightforward, supportive, and encouraging!

Great Book for Anyone That is Oversensitive
I have a very good friend that considers herself to be a highly sensitive person. I thought of her when I started listening to this audiobook. She often makes statements like she doesn't belong in this lifetime and doesn't belong with the rest of us. She often stands out from all the rest. I will definitely be recommending this book to her to help her transform her sensitivity into her power. I feel like she will find chapter 3 about nurturing her sensitivity to be very beneficial to her as well as chapter 1 to learn to unleash her inner strength. I am grateful that I got to listen to this as I now feel that I understand her a lot better than I did before, and I think this will actually enhance our relationship a lot.
