Summary

Alexander Eden is one unhappy teenager. A geeky, social pariah, he's the victim of constant bullying at school. His home life isn't much better with a stepfather who resents him and a half brother who is better than him at everything.

But that all changes the day the mysterious and beautiful Gabriella De Luca walks into his life. Everyone wants to know her, to be with her. But she is interested in Alex.

Because Alex is different.

Soon afterwards he is thrown into a world he never thought possible. A world where he and others like him are the last line of defence. A world where an ancient unspeakable evil lurks.

Evil which seeks to consume him.

One of my favourites finally on audiobook

I remember reading this when it was first released back in 2012 (I think). I immediately fell in love with the story and the characters. I was delighted to see the book make it's way to Audible and had no hesitation to buy! Just as great as ever! Looking forward to the next audiobook...

Enjoyably

I've been sitting here for a good hour following the chain link of books on goodreads.com and stumbled across the gem of a book, I have been waiting for something like this for a good while to come along, an I must say it fully blow my mind. it was a little slow at the start but maybe 5 chapter in and your golden for what can be described as quality work complete with a great performance. if only the second book was here I would've move straight on.
