Learning about good soil health and the mineral deficiencies to watch out for when producing crops was also helpful to me. There were lots of useful hints regarding the kinds of weeds that serve as markers for the condition of the soil. If you are like me and know next to nothing about gardening (as a food source or just at all lol) but are looking for a place to start this book is for you! I appreciated the explanation of the different types of gardens (especially the "survival" garden!). I also thought the list of tools/supplies was super helpful. The information about the different types of plants, how far apart to plant them, when to plant them, etc. is such incredible information to have - I will definitely be referring back to this book over and over. Highly recommend it!
