The book covers the parts you might expect like shade-loving and sun-loving plants and how to pair them but its adds so much more useful information like trellising and even adds, at times, the effect on the taste of vegetables.
I really appreciated how the chapters were summarised and consolidated and during the book some of these chapters are referenced back to, making them easy to find.
It is fascinating how plants and flowers work together and how the share their nutrients and chemicals that benefits each other - its mesmerising - and makes a great listen! It also helps understand the section on the nutrients that we can add ourselves - lots I have heard of but it was good to find out why and when I should use them. And I had no idea plants could take in too much sunlight and seek it out ‘too well’.
Great details on how to cope with weeds like ground cover and leaves which is explained so that you can work out what plants might help to limit weed growth (as well as other tools for the soil).
I had never thought about the insects that target the that eat our plants!
There is also great variety of flowering plants provided that can control weeds.
I loved the chapter on how to attract pollinators and the appreciated the description of how and why they work. I had no idea how helpful moths could be!
Full of great information!
