About this listen
There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us.
These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.
This A-Z encyclopedia of 150 serial killers is the ideal reference audiobook. Included are the most famous true crime serial killers, like Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Richard Ramirez, and not to mention the women who kill, such as Aileen Wuornos, and Martha Rendell. There are also lesser known serial killers, covering many countries around the world, so broad is the range.
Each of the serial killer files includes information on when and how they killed the victims, the background of each killer, or the suspects in some cases, such as the Zodiac killer, their trials and punishments. For some there are chilling quotes by the killers themselves. The Big Book of Serial Killers is an easy-to-follow collection of information on the world's most heinous murderers.

Creepy, yet thrilling!
This book has so much details on serial killers. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the mindset behind the grevious evil perpetrated by these twisted folks, however, listening to the details of their lives sometimes put everything into perspective. This kind of closure (not the best words, but close. Nothing can rationalize the twisted nature of serial killers!) is what this book offers by shedding light on some intricate details about the serial killers, their victims, and the role of the law enforcement agencies.
I think the narrator decided to use a slightly creepy tone to capture the darkness of the stories being told, and it was a good choice in my opinion.
Overall, this book is intriguing, engaging, and tells of some of the craziness that still exists in this world.
I received this book as a free review copy, and this is my unbiased opinion about it.

Good collection of stories
This book contains some really high profile serial killers stories. The details go as far as the background of these twisted criminals, which gives a hint of the possible motivation for such heinous crimes. I think the narrator also decided to use a slightly tense tone to create suspense and it makes the book even more chilling to listen to. Some of the stories presented would really astound some people, but then, that's what an encyclopedia on serial killers should deliver. Great content.
P.S. I received a free copy of this audiobook and I have left this review as a true evaluation of this book.

Satisfyingly horrific summary
This was generally a well-written, well-researched round-up of 20th century serial killers although it left out several nurses who undoubtedly win over many mentioned, both in numbers and cruelty. The major problem I had with the book was that the victim list is read out twice - the second time in the 'murder timeline'. This meant hours of time wasted that could have been spent on extra detail and elaboration. The narration was clear and sufficiently absorbing but not without coloquial pronunciation.

Informative and straight to the point
Thoroughly enjoyed this anthology of a multitude of real life crimes, the perpetrators, the victims and the MO’s of the criminal. Very interesting and some crimes which I’ve never heard of despite them being major blood fests. Excellent easy to follow breakdown of the crimes etc.

Lovely book!
Me and my partner always listen to audible books for 30mins each night to fall asleep to.. weird option for it I know.. but we both have a strong interest in serial killers and how they tick! We found it pleasantly easy to fall asleep to.. I guess it was the readers voice?
