About this listen
For too long, Violet and the people of the outer circles of the Lone City have lived in service of the royalty of the Jewel. But now, the secret society known as the Black Key is preparing to seize power.
Now, after fighting so hard to escape the Jewel, Violet must do everything in her power to return - not only to save her sister Hazel, who has been taken by the Duchess of the Lake, but the future of the Lone City....

"With its taut, provocative plot and irresistible characters, The Jewel had me tearing through pages right up to the final, startling twist. I need the next book now!" (Andrea Cremer, praise for The Jewel)
"Excellent world building skillful descriptions." ( Booklist, praise for The Jewel)
The main character is groomed and hardened by circumstances and by Lucian. She becomes alright with violent bombings and murder. She sets about converting others to her cause.
And then there was that very Martyr-like beheading.
Hmm. Unsettling ....
