So, I'm not a huge fan of sport romance but thankfully there wasn't a tonne of sports jargon thrown at you.

I love Kelly and how unapologetically himself he is.
I liked Blue but it annoyed me how selfish and indecisive he was.

I enjoyed the book. The story was interesting and the narrators were very good. I always knew which character was speaking and they were good with accents as well. I am looking forward to the next book.

For awhile this was going to be a DNF but I persevered and on reflection I enjoyed this book.
The plot felt slow at the start, but scenes and dialogue were rushed. I slowed the speed down and that helped me.
Both narrators are good at their craft, I would have like to hear them take the opposite parts. AC sounds more of a jock than SC to me at least.
I would recommend this book still and will listen to book 2.

4.25 stars from me. New to me narrator Alexander Cendese was great as Kelly, with the right amount of snark in his fabulous banter with Blue...as narrated by Sean Crisden, mostly using his Bear McKenna/Thompson 'rant' voice which I absolutely loved. I wasn't actually very keen on the character of Blue [and it would appear I'm in the majority for a change 🎉]...in fact, I was fed up with Kelly for giving in to him all the bloody time 🤯 and then allowing him to set the rules as to how they went forward from there. Kelly was the one getting hurt, not Blue...he was just getting some on the side while supposedly making his mind up, so friends with bennies for him and more heartbreak waiting to happen for Kels 💔. It must be awful for a gay guy to fall in love with his straight [or not] best friend 😕.

Not long to wait for the audio to come out for A Deeper Blue...a couple of months I think, and I won't be reading the sequel, I'll definitely be listening to it. These two narrators go well together.

O. M. G! This story had sooooo many laugh out loud moments. I think my neighbours were concerned for my mental health. The story was brilliant though inconclusive, which makes me salivate for next book in the series. Write me hooked!

Omg, I was swooning through all of this, I won’t say I wasn’t upset for Kelly sometimes, and I’m not a big fan of the ending, but otherwise this story was so fun to listen to while I was doing housework, blue and Kelly will be in my mind for the rest of the day!

I absolutely loved this story. Grateful I started it on a Sunday morning because I couldn’t stop listening and finished in one day. These characters were beautifully brought to life by perfect narration. Sad to learn my new favourite author only has one other book on Audible.
