About this listen

New York City is thrown into chaos by the assaults of the Bone Collector, a serial kidnapper and killer who gives the police a chance to save his victims from death by leaving obscure clues. The cops go to Lincoln Rhyme, an ex-NYPD forensics expert left paralysed after an accident on the job. Rhyme reluctantly postpones his ambitions towards suicide and puts together a forensic investigation team, enlisting as his eyes and ears young police officer Amelia Sachs.

The storage was well written and produced a variety of suspects throughout. The ending was well thought through and a great read. The audible recording was entertaining and the voice acting easily differentiated the characters, making it easy to follow the story. Definitely recommended.

This is a very fast story with lots of twists and the first Jeffery Deaver book I have read . It is well researched and very well written with excellent descriptive passages . I met the author at a literary lunch and he was exceptional . Now about to start on the second book. Thank you Jeffrey .

A book you just can't stop listening to, despite having seen the film, the book far surpasses the on-screen renditions.

A must-read book

The narrator Jeff Harding is brilliant and really brings the story to life. I was hooked from the start and will definitely get some more of Jeffrey deaver books. Loved it

Great stuff

Outstanding. I saw the Denzil
Washington / Angelina Jolie film in the 90s, but the bookshelves so much deeper. This is a PROPER page-turner. Like Steve Cavanagh’s Eddie Flynn series, you find yourself making excuses to listen just “just another thirty minutes”.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I found this audio book great to listen too, the narrator read it in a such a way that I became lost in it as though I was there with them. The story line is engrossing and the book is so informative re: forensic science.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character has to be Amelia Sachs, she of course one of the main characters but I liked the way that she coped with being pulled into this completely different job she found herself doing and the way she managed to cope with such difficult circumstances.

What about Jeffrey Harding’s performance did you like?

Some people that I have listened to reading books have been awful but I really enjoyed his style and the way he draws you into the story line.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not a book to make you laugh, some parts made me want to cry, others were unbelievably tense.

Any additional comments?

The characters in this book are great and I have enjoyed others in this series.

A great book to listen too
