Summary

Yig, known as the Serpent God, is older than humanity, and Yig’s reptilian children once ruled the Earth. Now they are stirring in their caves, walking the Earth in forms not quite human, slowly and patiently preparing their plans. Those who stumble on their secrets are in deadly danger...but only they can prevent the return of our darkest fears.

Join us for a collection of novellas from some modern masters of neo-Lovecraftian fiction - Peter Rawlik (Reanimator, The Weird Company), Matthew Davenport (Andrew Doran, The Trials of Obed Marsh), David Hambling (Harry Stubbs, The Dulwich Horror), and Mark Howard Jones (Cthulhu Cymraeg) - telling stories of Yig’s deadly machinations.

Listen to the plot unfold, from the 1920s to the present day, through four chilling episodes!

Cthulu earworms

I enjoyed this collection of stories. The standout tale for me was by Mark Howard Jones, who has created a very interesting 50s Cthulu noir experience. Nicely plotted with clever twists and good characters, the story kept my attention throughout. The action sequences were integral to the plot and had me hooked. This was my first taste of listening to stories on Audible and I was rewarded with a strong set of tales. Definitely worth checking out.

Gripping stuff!

A really strong collection of Lovecraftian stories, each slightly connecting to each other. Still Life with death is my personal favourite, really intriguing and paced perfectly. Interesting narration that keeps you invested in the storytelling.

Great story, great narration

Captivating storylines different to anything else I have listened to. The narration fits well with the time period, location and themes.

Amateur Narration

could not get into this at all. it's a shame because I have thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the series. sounds like the narrator recorded this in his University dorm room
