About this listen
For the first time ever in audio! GraphicAudio and Dynamite Comics are proud to present The Boys, produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects, and cinematic music.
This is going to hurt!
In a world where costumed heroes soar through the sky and masked vigilantes prowl the night, someone has to make sure the "supes" don't get out of line. And someone will!
Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, Mother's Milk, The Frenchman, and The Female are The Boys: a CIA-backed team of very dangerous people, each one dedicated to the struggle against the most dangerous force on Earth - superpower!
Some superheroes have to be watched. Some have to be controlled. And some of them - sometimes - need to be taken out of the picture. That's when you call in The Boys!
Fourteen issues adapted to GraphicAudio containing The Name of the Game, Cherry, Get Some, and Glorious Five-Year Plan. Joseph Rybandt, executive editor of Dynamite and editor of The Boys, says, “While I did not grow up anywhere near the Golden Age of Radio, I have loved the medium of radio and audio dramas almost my entire life. Podcasts make my commute bearable to this day. To have such an important and powerful piece of graphic fiction adapted into a series of audio dramas? Well, it’s perfect, innit?”
Performed by Dave Coyne; Eric Messner; Kenyatta Rogers; Matthew Bassett; Chris Genebach; Laura C Harris; Scott McCormick; Christopher Walker; Richard Rohan; Amanda Forstrom; Evan Casey; Kimberley Gilbert; Jonathan Watkins; Matthew Pauli; Dawn Ursula; Nick DePinto; Frank Britton; Jonathon Church; Scott Bruffey; Steve Wannall; Henry Kramer; Jonathan Feuer; Terence Aselford; Lawrence Redmond; Chris Stinson; Andy Brownstein; Ken Jackson; Bradley Smith; Elaine Yuko Qualter; Andrew Quilpa; Colleen Delany; Michael Glenn; Sasha Olinick; Karen Novak; Nanette Savard.

Hughie ; boys will boys or are they
A clever twist with a tragic beginning . Huggies girlfriend was killed by a superhero who didn’t give a damn . Neither do the authorities . Some one has a plan to bring them in line . I’ was not sure about the Michael Caine accent but he grew on me and was quite hilarious at times , perhaps him and Director need to keep their libido in check !? Will listen to others stories . Love graphic audio .

More gritty than the series
Loved it. Definitely worth a listen, deeper insight into the characters as you would expect. On to the next one :-)

Loved it.
I have watched the TV series and love it, I thought this was really interesting with all the things that were the same and the things that were changed, brilliant fun.

Could be better
Story sticks to the original which is much better than the show. But the accents are ridiculously bad especially the Scottish!

hilarious and brutal, I am filled with a lobotomised rage and I love it.
I don't love comic books or graphic novels but I was a fan of the boys show, I was over the moon to see I can experience the original story by audio and its brilliant, Nice to see Billy the butcher very much like Micheal Caine,

Entertaining
If you are wondering how can they translate all the action scenes in this audiobook, well it is possible. The boys are even crazier

Abyssmal.
Bad telling of a decent story. The narrator sounds like an AI autovoice, the narrative parts are badly written and intrusove and the character acting is full of horrendous accents.
Check out Dirk Maggs adaptations of Sandman for a good way to adapt comics to audio. This is just cheap.

Absolutely appalling accents
I tried to like this, but I can’t get past the accents which are so bad, they are almost funny. In fact, I wondered if they were being done like this as some kind of joke. Shame because the material really deserves a good adaptation.
