 Back in Pickax, Jim Qwilleran expects to resume a quiet life, but the people and animals of Pickax have other ideas. A noisy cardinal wakes him every morning. Love this series of books. Wish they were all available as part of membership. Too many to buy each one.

Humorous and engaging

Arguably one of her best in the series. LJB introduced the murder early on in the story which gave the fitting of the puzzle pieces a more enveloping experiencing. Always the humour shines through, the huffs into the famous moustache, Koko’s persistent prods ‘I kept telling him’, and the romance between Quill and Polly almost reached a decisive moment! And George Guidell is a perfect choice as he puts just the right amount of playfulness into each of these books. You won’t be disappointed!
