About this listen

Her whole world hinged on the moment one man jumped.... On a perfect summer's day in Paris, tourists on a river trip watch in horror as drama unfolds. A small boy has fallen overboard and disappeared below the surface of the water. As his mother stands frozen to the spot, another passenger jumps....

This is the story of how a single act of courage transforms the lives of all those involved. Louise Candlish returns with her most page-turning and emotional story to date.

Lovely and absorbing

A book about people and relationships that is well told and well narrated - not so much a thriller like her other books, but enjoyable nevertheless.

A compelling story!

I really enjoyed Louise Candlish’s book the day you saved my life, it has many ups and downs and twists and turns, which I found compelling. I have read many of her other books, and admit I am a fan!

The Day You Saved My Life

Really enjoyed this booked, I highly recommend it, even though it is not the usual murder mystery title I would usually get.
I got hooked on it and felt the injustice felt by the characters, sad when it finished.

Intriguing starting point for a story

This audiobook is good value in terms of length . The author uses descriptive language in a masterly way and I can see and feel the settings . However , I think it would benefit from being shorter,

It has a very intriguing starting point in Paris , but the resolution is a long time coming and the journey to that ending is relentless although it does pose some moral dilemmas about family relationships but by Chapter 21 I really had stopped caring.

The voice performance was skilled and kept me listening but it is a lengthy listen and I think a couple of narrators might have injected a different type of energy into this slow burn plot.

Thought provoking

Interesting story in which the characters interact with each other, a few twists and turns along the way, I was happy with the ending and felt it was well written and entertaining. The hours flew by, even though it was a lot of listening hours. Worth a read

sophisticated portrait of human relationships

Great writing way beyond simply 'what happens' - a skilful exploration of the deeper feelings, behaviours and motivations behind interrelating.

Thought provoking

Interesting story about the complexities of human emotions and relationships. Not full of twists and turns, but still captivating in a different way. Perhaps a little depressing in parts - so not suitable for everybody.

Don't waste a credit!

Everything I've ready by Louise Candlish has been brilliant but this one...oh my god what has happened? The narration is dreary and the story just isn't getting going. I've given up after two chapters. Life's too short to persevere. Just wish I could return the book...
