المحطّة الثالثة هي مصر، يأخذنا الكتاب لندخل إلى خضمِّ الصِّراع بين الملك كامل وأخيه المعظّم عيسى وكيف أهدى الكامل القدس للفرنجة بلا مقابل، في مصر نمرُّ على سلسةٍ من الحكّام والصراعات الدّائمة فنرى الصّالح أيوب وابنه توران شاه، شجر الدُّر، أيبك ثمَّ قطز ومواجهته للمغول، لنعود في النّهاية إلى قلعة الحشّاشين ونتسائل هل هم جناة أم ضحايا مجتمعاتهم؟
