Well written and well read. I was laughing out loud at times. Will look for more by the author.

Excellent second book in the series. Narration is sympathetic which is perfect for this cold fish of a central character.

An annoyingly addictive set of characters

Love these books. Refreshingly dark humour. Lead character often says the things we want to say. Defo no filters. This particular book has it all - corruption, murder, spooks, Starbucks and a Jack Russell. Think I might treat myself to a twix.

Dark humour

Frustrating and disappointing. Story seemed to be being made up as it went along, with no clear (neat) end to aim at. This was particularly evident towards the close when a character had to be brought back on in a contrived encounter just to tie up a crucial loose end.
Also let down by mono-voiced narration, which more or less stayed the same for all characters.
The story did have moments of humour though; so there's that.

a bit of a shaggy dog's tale

I enjoyed the first in the series (Mystery Man) so much, it was a tough act to follow. The story here wasn't quite as good, but I might change my mind about this on subsequent listens - I often do. Some audiobooks need time to bed in. I really enjoyed the narration - just the right tone to round out the protagonist I imagine the Mystery Man to be.

Still mad, still hilarious, the Man of Mystery continues to weave his eccentric path through life.

Very good choice of narrator.

I love this series of books which really do have those laugh out loud moments, but even I feel there is not enough justification for the amont of foul language and this series would be just as funny with half as much of this.

hilarious but more swearing than necessary

I really enjoyed book one so have this one a go. I am so glad I did. Such a funny book. Even better than book one. I listen to it while walking my dogs and always get a lot of ‘looks’. Not because of my gorgeous dogs, but because I am always laughing out loud. Anyone that says it’s not funny has no sense of humour. The narrator doesn’t attempt voices but that was ok, it was always perfectly clear who was talking. You don’t necessarily need to read book one first, but I would highly recommend that you do. Probably the funniest book I will read this year

First off, this was a great title, and secondly we finally meet the dreaded mother. It's no wonder he's the shell of a man he is, the mother is AWFUL (in a great, Thank God she's not my maw way!).

A new assignment involving You Tube, kidnapping and a stuffed Jack Russell interferes with love and parenthood. A good listen.

LOVED it! just as good as the 1st one kept me guessing to the end and as usual laughing and hating the Mystery man in equal measures!

He's back as brilliant and stupid as ever
