A short story and a familiar setting but great

characters as expected in a Rosamunde Pilcher
novel, and I enjpyed it just as much .

To short

The story was nice but a bit to long discussing un important things like the weather and not enough to time on the story line and characters. It was not really a romantic book either. I will give it 3/5 stars

Disappointing

I have listened to many of Rosamund Pilcher's stories and generally have enjoyed them, 'Winter Solstice' being my favourite. This story however, was dated, predictable and reflects just how far feminism has progressed. The main female character is weak and lacking in any gumption and self respect. The narrator was not particularly good either and continually mis-pronounced words such as 'Beauchamp' and 'Cadogan' which became increasingly irritating and jarring. I was actually quite glad when it was finished. Maybe RP wrote well in her era but I think her books probably are of their time.

Enjoy Rosamunde Pilcher's style

Having listened to a few by this author it was a little predictable, although Shell Seekers is still one of my favourite books.

Classic and timeless romance

This is a classic Rosamunde Pilcher, with a good atmosphere of comfort and cosy cheer, a dash of domestic style mystery and a timeless romance. Whilst it does have an authentic, vintage feel as it's a book written a few decades back, this only adds to its charm. It's well read and a great listen, just what I was looking for, you can always rely on Rosamunde!

Disappointing

Have read most of Rosamund’s books but the story was boring and was very disappointed with the narration too. Far too twee!
