About this listen
A new hope for dragons. A new danger for the world…
Ophelia, High Queen of the Fae, is ecstatic when Sunny, her bonded dragon, announces that he and his mate are expecting a new egg. After all their trials and tribulations, a dragonling is more than welcome in the realm of Charassi…until a prophecy reveals that the new hatchling may bring about the end of the world.
Other dragons demand that the egg be destroyed. And some within the fae kingdom agree, including a mysterious sect determined to capture the egg at any cost. When they succeed, Ophelia will do anything to get it back. Even if it means putting her safety on the line by infiltrating the Wild Hunt.
But Ophelia’s fierce determination puts her at odds with her co-ruler, King Corrin. And their relationship is not the only thing showing cracks. A sinister power is rising that threatens to tear a rift in magic itself. With enemies and disaster looming on all sides, can Ophelia protect both her friends and her kingdom, before it’s too late?

Dragon soulmates' egg in danger.
Dragon soulmates' egg in danger.
This is the fourth book in the series and it would be much better if you start the series at the beginning. Although this could work as a standalone, it will spoil the previous books if you start here. You will also have a better appreciation of the relationships between the main characters and how they use magic as well as resourcefulness to solve problems.
Time has moved on a little from the previous as Ophelia is now 18 and betrothed to the high king as their respective dragons have become soulmates so they share everything too through their dragon bonds. The egg produced by the dragons is under threat from several sides. This causes great distress to the dragon parents and their bonded riders, the high queen and king. Unusual weather and earthquake activity may be linked to a new omen in the sky. Whilst working to help the victims and repair damage after one of these events, the egg is stolen.
Our four main characters have the task of finding out who has the egg and retrieving it before it is harmed. There are a few twists in the tale, but the book ends with the questions of how the prophecy will turn out and will the egg hatch?
The narrator still mangles some words, but made a better effort of voicing the different creatures and characters to make them more distinctive.

Fea, humans and dragons hopes and disappointments.
I always like dragon stories, this one being about dragon artifacts with magic enchantments inbound in them.
I like how the author allows the story to develop, gives rise to hope, allows defeats to give the characters pause and find new perspectives.
The narrator is bringing the story a life and engaging the listener. I can't wait to hear the rest of the story! I'm sure everyone who loves dragon stories will enjoy this book.

I need the next book!
Who blinked...? This is a fast paced, sometimes sad, with danger everywhere story, yet retains its humor. Onto the next book in the series!
