About this listen

A deadly choice. A secret between friends or a stab in the back?

Four friends as close as they come. Until a girl’s weekend away leaves them with a shared secret that could destroy them all.

But a secret is safe among friends, isn’t it? That’s what they think until in turn they all in turn receive a letter with the grim truth written down in black and white. Someone wants money for their silence – and quick…

With the clock ticking, the girls must work out who they can trust and who’s been watching them. And ultimately, discover what they’d do to keep the truth among friends.

Critic reviews

‘The northern Martina Cole’ Melanie Blake, bestselling author of Ruthless Women

‘Wow! Karen Woods has delivered a gripping read full of grit and with characters to keep you turning the pages. And that ending! I didn’t see that coming at all. Loved it. 5 huge stars from me.’ Caz Finlay, author of the Bad Blood series

This is a nicely written celebration of female friendship amongst life’s trials and tribulations. It is pacey and a tribute to the Manchester culture and humour. However in my opinion does not have the grit or suspense of some of her other novels so a little disappointing. Overall a good not a great read.
